Beware of the Melamine products below!
Beware Malaysian, below is the news on some of the biscuit products in Malaysia which contains industrial chemical melamine. Sorry for I do not have enough time to translate it into English version.
(吉隆坡）衛生部證實，本地兩家老字號的餅乾廠──康元（Khong Guan）及建元（Khian Guan）的產品已受到三聚氰胺污染，業者必須從市場上收回所有的產品，如果有關產品繼續售賣，衛生部將立刻銷毀。
衛生部是根據10月4日的報導，指越南發現來自馬來西亞的康元及建元餅乾含有三胺。因此，特別向設在新山及森美蘭的康元餅貨倉、檳城的建元餅廠進行調查，收取樣本以進行檢驗。
衛長證實檢驗結果
衛生部長拿督廖中萊今日（週四，10月16日）在辦公室召開記者會中宣布檢驗結果，兩個品牌中的47個樣本中，有18個證實三胺超標，必須立刻下架及銷毀。
他指出，為確認污染的原因，小組進一步進行分析。結果顯示，餅乾有毒的原因來自於制作成分裡的重鉻酸氨（mmonium bicarbonate）。廖中萊解釋，重鉻酸氨實為制作餅乾用的膨化劑（agen penaik），而兩家品牌皆採用來自中國的重鉻酸氨。
“康元餅乾廠的重鉻酸氨中，三聚氰胺含量是建元餅乾廠的重鉻酸氨的含量是508ppm，而衛生部的標準為2.5ppm，這意味著它不符合安全食用的標準。”
廖中萊指出，衛生部已展開調查，以便確認來自中國的重鉻酸氨和有關入口、分銷商和供應商。另外，衛生部也將展開全國檢查行動， 如果發現含有來自中國的重鉻酸氨成份，有關餅乾廠或將遭到查封。
對於毒奶事件最新演變，廖中萊深感憂慮。他說，衛生部非常關注這件事情，因為三聚氰胺污染不再只是局限在奶製品上，就連烘製餅乾的膨化劑也可以含有三聚氰胺。
“衛生部將嚴謹查出重鉻酸氨的成份及來源，同時，來自中國的重鉻酸氨將被列入6級檢查機制，禁止入口。至於其他國家的重鉻酸氨，則列入4級檢查機制。”
另一方面，衛生部把中國制造的不含牛奶餅乾，和其他國家生產的餅乾，列入4級檢查機制，但對於中國乳製品，如餅乾、巧克力、年奶巧克力和白巧克力，將持續以6級檢察機制進行監控。

HK finds melamine in M'sian Munchys!
HONG KONG, Oct 18 – Hong Kong's food safety watchdog said on Saturday it has found unsafe levels of the industrial chemical melamine in crackers made by a Malaysian company.
The Centre for Food Safety said it found the chemical in two samples of crackers manufactured by Malaysia's Munchy Food Industries Sdn Bhd. It did not say where the products were made.
Milk powder contaminated with melamine has been blamed for the deaths of four infants and for sickening about 54,000 others in mainland China. Hong Kong has also found 10 children with kidney stones who had consumed Chinese-made milk products.
A sample of Munchy's Mini Crackers with Peanut Butter was found to contain 5.4 parts per million (ppm) of melamine, while Munchy's Mini Crackers with Cheese Cream had 3.8 ppm, the food safety watchdog said in a statement. The territory has set the safe limit at 2.5 ppm.

A notice on its Web site says its products are safe for consumption because the ingredients come from France or Australia.
"We do not source any of these ingredients from China and our suppliers assure us that there is no danger of melamine adulteration in their products," the notice says.
The company was featured by The Star on Sept 20 in an article headlined "Munchy’s does Malaysia proud".
Chinese authorities have blamed dairy suppliers for contamination there, saying they added melamine to watered-down milk to dupe quality control tests and make the product appear rich in protein.
Melamine is used in the manufacturing of plastics, fertiliser, paint and adhesives.
Health experts say ingesting a small amount poses no danger, but in larger doses, the chemical can cause kidney stones and lead to kidney failure. Infants are particularly vulnerable. – Agencies

Rich Dad Vs Poor Dad Story
A very interesting article or theory from Robert Kiyosaki.
I had two dads - a rich one and a poor one.
One dad was highly educated and intelligent; he had a Ph.D. and had completed four years of under-graduate work in less than two years. He then went to Stanford University, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University to do his advanced studies. All on full, financial scholarships.
My other dad never finished the eighth grade.
Both men were successful in their careers, working hard all their lives. Both earned substantial incomes. Yet one dad struggled financially all his life and the other dad would become one of the richest men in Hawaii. One died leaving tens of millions of dollars to his family, charities, and his church. The other left a legacy of unpaid bills.
Both men were strong, charismatic, and influential. Both men offered me advice, but they did not advise the same things.
Having two dads as advisors offered me the perspective of contrasting points of view: one of a rich man and one of a poor man. The problem was that my rich dad was not yet rich, and my poor dad not yet poor. Both were just starting out in their careers; both were struggling with money and families.
One dad would say, "The love of money is the root of all evil." The other, "The lack of money is the root of all evil." Having two dads - and loving them both - forced me to think about, and ultimately choose, a way of thinking for myself.
I had to think about each dad's advice and, in doing so, gained valuable insights into the power and effect of one's thoughts on one's life. For example: My poor dad had a habit of saying, "I can't afford it." My rich dad forbade those words to be used. He insisted that I say, "How can I afford it?" One is a statement, the other a question. One lets you off the hook; the other forces you to think.
My rich dad would explain that by automatically saying the words "I can't afford it" your brain stops working. By asking the question "How can I afford it?" your brain is put to work.My rich dad did not mean 'buy everything you wanted.' He was, though, fanatical about exercising your mind – the most powerful computer in the world. My rich dad said: "My brain gets stronger every day because I exercise it. The stronger it gets, the more money I can make." He believed that automatically saying "I can't afford it" was a sign of mental laziness.
Although both dads worked hard, I noticed that my Poor Dad had a habit of putting his brain to sleep when it came to money matters. My Rich Dad, on the other hand, made a habit of exercising his brain. The long-term result was that one dad grew stronger financially and the other grew weaker.
Being a product of two strong dads allowed me the luxury of observing the effects that different thoughts have on one's life. I noticed that people really do shape their lives through their thoughts.
The power of our thoughts may never be measured or appreciated, but it became obvious to me as a young boy that there was value and power in being aware of my thoughts and how I expressed myself. I noticed that my poor dad was poor not because of the amount of money he earned – which was significant – but because of his thoughts and actions. As a young boy having two fathers I became acutely aware of being careful in deciding which thoughts I chose to adopt as my own and to whom should I listen – my rich dad or my poor dad?
At the age of nine I decided to listen to and learn from my rich dad about money. In doing so, I chose not to listen to my poor dad – my real dad – even though he was the one with all the college degrees.
One of my dads is a multi-millionaire. The other is a poor man. Why? Very simply, it comes down to their respective attitudes toward money and life.
